Building systems for awakening

Vision

The world is pretty fucked up. Most spiritual communities and teachers ignore just how fucked up it is. The economy is built to keep you in a permanent state of doing; technology is designed to enslave your attention and sell it to the highest bidder. Education has become spiritually hollow and wildly inefficient, and instead of prioritizing wonder, it just beats it out of you.

Some people end their own personal suffering despite all of this and wake up to the true nature of our existence. We know their names, we watch their videos, we read their books, and we think to ourselves, “it's simple, they were sincere and they wanted it badly enough.”

But for every one of them there were many who were just as sincere, just as honest, just as open. Their receptivity let the world in, and the world left them with addiction, distraction, and a chasm of meaninglessness. Fuck that! If someone wants to wake up and pursue truth, we need systems that facilitate that. The world as it stands is antithetical to your pursuit of truth!

It's not all about personal will. We hold the twisted view that we are completely responsible for ourselves, that we are immune to our environments, that we must transcend and eradicate every influence the world has on us, and that failing to do so is a personal failure. It sounds great even to me as I type it, but it's a delusion of control and it's myopic. There are forces much larger than any individual keeping us unconscious. We have to intentionally craft the world and systems we want to live in, not just ignore or reject them.

Awakyn is a vision for a community that creates these environments that support this journey back to the truth of our nature. Not just an online community, but a physical one as well. A world where we surround ourselves with loved ones, homes, schools that support the end of our suffering and the suffering of all beings.

Who is this for?

You want to realise the truth from your own direct experience, not from thoughts, ideas or philosophy. You want to build a world that serves that realisation. You're creative, open-minded, and drawn to mastery and purpose.

Who is this NOT for?

You want to escape society and disappear into the mountains. You're strictly anti-technology. You're committed to a specific dogma, or looking for an idol to worship. You think money is evil and refuse to contribute to the world.
